Over and onward, moving through Florida.....

...........MORE OF FLORIDA (2013)

SARASOTA

Decided to head west to Sarasota and the best beaches in the country!! We left the Vero Bch/Sabastian, Fl area on Jan.9th and arrived a few hours later at Sun N Fun in Sarasota, Fl., a regular stop over for us over the years.
Our good friends stay there and aside from being familiar and liking this area, the resort is pretty awesome!
It's pricey @ $68+tax per night (extended stay prices apply) but the amenities make it worth every penny! We typically stay in the Kings, Queens sections if anything is available. But this place gets booked in Feb., Mar and some of April! Especially with all the park models going in! There's a pool, indoor pool, wellness center, pool bar and grill, restaurant, volley ball, pickle ball, bocce ball, tennis, shuffle bd, dog parks, dog bathing stations, lakes, events....and the list goes on!! A community in itself, other than not having a little grocery store its everything you could want!
It's just off interstate 75 and close to stores, malls, Siesta and Lido key beaches, downtown, st Armand's circle and Ringling campus!

TAMPA

On Jan 16th, we pack up and head due north to the Tampa Super Rv show where we'd stay overnight in the parking lot and "dry camp" for $20. This gave us time to spend a full day browsing. Debbie and Steve came up from Sun N Fun to hang for the day.
A lot to like but decided we'd keep what we had! Well at least we were in this frame of mind at this point!

PORT CHARLOTTE

Jan 17th and headed south to Port Charlotte, Fl. We had reservations at Riverside Rv Pk. We've stayed here before.....a very nice park.It was $400 for a 7 night stay. Clean, friendly and along the Peace River if you like to boat or kayak! In fact, the dog park is in a great spot on the water and has a dock, pier with a picnic table where all the ladies meet at 4 ea day while the dogs play! In fact, Wednesdays are wine days!  The "Lakes" section is a new area that just opened and the sites are huge!! Patios, fire rings and picnic tables with grass areas around. There are multiple small lakes throughout with water fountains. (sprays really) They have a schedule of events is you choose to engage.
The Park is close to Punte Gorda and a bit of a  distance to the beaches though. The Fisherman's Village is a nice little mall with unique shops and eateries/restaurants in Punte Gorda!

PINE ISLAND/N. FT. MEYERS

Jan 24th and on our way south to meet our good friends, Kim and Jon from N.J., at the KOA/Encore Rv Pk.
